Job Description:
The Family Office Accountant is a unique position for an
individual who has a strong financial background and a desire to
work with a prominent South Florida family/business. The position
will manage accounting, tax and investment programs, both domestic
and international as well as coordinate the work of outside
professionals. Discretion is critical, and the chosen individual
will need to demonstrate upmost confidentiality related to all
business and personal matters of family members. Occasional travel
may be required.Job ResponsibilitiesThe primary focus of this
position will be inputting, analyzing, and summarizing current as
well as historical financial data in order to support the
preparation of many of the following unaudited statements: balance
sheets, statements of net worth, income statements, cash flow
statements and estate plan summaries.* Understanding client's
investments, assets, liabilities, expenditures and related
transactions* Evaluating portfolio income and investment returns*
Tracking and following up on transactions* Ad hoc analysis and
reportingQualifications* Bachelor's degree in accounting or related
field of study and a minimum of 10 years relevant work experience,
or an equivalent combination of education and experience*
Experience working with and maintaining accounts for affluent
individuals, families, executives and owners of closely held
businesses* Knowledge of estate planning, financial planning, and
US tax required* Experience in global tax and treasury/cash
management strategies a plus, as is a CPA or CFP certification*
Able to work well independently and with limited guidance in a
highly complex and multi-faceted organization* Flexibility in
adjusting to the schedules of senior executives* Must have a strong
proficiency in the use of accounting software* Superb verbal and
written communication skills, presentation and project management
skills* Detail oriented, highly motivated, and a self-starter*
Strong organizational skills: demonstrates ability to prioritize
and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment to meet
deadlines with efficiency and accuracy* Strong problem solving,
financial analysis, and research abilities* Shows tact, discretion,
confidentiality and good judgment in handling sensitive and
confidential matters and documentation
