Job Description:

The position is responsible for the training, supervision, scheduling, and management of the behavioral health technicians working at the inpatient, outpatient, and transitional housing locations. This manager is part of the leadership and management team and provides direct support to the other departments and staff. Behavioral health technicians are responsible for providing the clients with supervision and support during their shift, including completing rounds, room searches, body searches, UAs, oversight and supervision on outings, supervision of phone calls, observation of all clients during their day-to-day routine, the intake process, collecting and logging valuables, search and storage of luggage and belongings, transportation, and other client and facility support as needed. The manager is expected to provide the BHTs with ongoing support and training on boundaries, appropriate communication, teamwork and support, time management, etc. De-escalation, conflict resolution, and team building are necessary skills to enable appropriate management and training of BHT staff. This position works directly with the clinical director and supervisor to ensure appropriate management of the BHT team, as well as to assist in oversight of client activities (outings, phone calls, etc.) and scheduling and support of clients on outings and activities. The manager works closely with the clinical and program directors to coordinate client activities, as well as the director of nursing to ensure clear communication and teamwork between the BHTs and nursing/medical staff. This position is also responsible for receiving client cigarettes and cash requests and coordinating the ordering, pick up, and distribution of client cigarettes weekly.
