The Senior Estimator coordinates the preparation of budget estimates based on site visits /conceptual information, and hard bid estimates. The Senior Estimator focuses on the development of bid strategies and general trade estimates. This position provides support services as required by the management department during the preconstruction and construction phases. This position reviews the pricing and scope sheets prepared by the subcontractor trades so that they are responsible for the estimate from start to finish. This position will work out of the Fort Lauderdale, FL location and is assigned to the Estimating Department.Our Success Story:It all started in 1997 when Joe Leonello and his father started their own construction firm. • Understand and interpret, with accuracy, project blueprints and conceptual drawings, bidding - - - - - - - - - - - -specifications, scope descriptions, contracts, and related documents.
• Prepare estimates, proposals, and accompanying cost information.
• Operate a computerized bidding system with precision and speed.
• Address bid requests, estimates and proposals in a prompt, professional and courteous manner.
• Determine duration of project, dollar value, reviews budget prior to submission.
• Coordinate and Lead Project Turn-over meetings, providing project teams with all background - - - - - - - - - - - - information for a successful completion and attends Pre-Bid meetings.
• Attend all project postmortems with Operations for dissemination into future bids and historical data.
• Evaluate bids from vendors and subcontractors for completeness.
• Responsible for ordering drawings from Estimating Coordinator to estimate divisions.
• Conduct site visits to potential sites for investigation and prepares initial conceptual budgets based - - - - - - - upon findings.
• Develop Subcontractor list for bid soliciting.
• Responsible for entire bid process from inception to Bid submission.
• Write and ensure qualifications and assumptions are accurate to our proposal.
• Coordinate and lead bid review meeting with VP of Estimating and Operations prior to bid being - - - - - - - - - - submitted.
• Manage sub database and grows and expands our subcontractor partners.
• Submit all bids on time and in accordance with the RFP. -
• Review subcontractor lists and monitors progress of bid solicitation including ensuring adequate - - - - - - - - - - -subcontractor coverage on bid day.
• Manage estimator coordinator to ensure proper sub coverage at bid day as well as continued support of - - - - - -subcontractors.What you'll need to be familiar with:

      • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction management or relevant - - - - - - - - - - - - -experience in lieu of education.
      • Minimum 5-7 years of commercial estimating experience.
      • Computer Skills; proficient in MS office, required.
