Implements, and supports the Information Security program, consisting of hardware, software, policies and procedures, which ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all information systems in the City of Fort Lauderdale network. NOTE: The duties of this position will include all of those duties set forth in the official job description. This job classification is in Management Category III for benefits purposes, which includes Six (6) additional Management Vacation Days per year and a Vehicle Allowance of $250/month. This job classification is included within the bargaining unit represented by Federation of Public Employees and therefore is subject to the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Fort Lauderdale and Federation of Public Employees. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Essential functions are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation.   • Designs, implements and supports secure network architecture for the City of Fort Lauderdale
  • Works closely with Infrastructure and Operations division to remediate security vulnerabilities
  • Provides ITS security audit and compliance assessments
  • Participates in Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CIRT) activities
  • Composes City-wide information security policies that provide well-defined objectives and compliance obligations
  • Administers and monitors security log management systems
  • Participates in project implementation with groups of people in various City departments
  • Evaluates the impact that future projects will have on the City of Fort Lauderdale's network by performing third-party risk assessments and reports
  • Researches and assesses threats and possible impact on networked systems
  • Provides Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS) and Information Security training
  • Responds to and documents security concerns and alerts in a timely manner
  • Assists in the testing, selection, placement, implementation, documentation, operation and maintenance of various information security technologies
  • Maintains documentation and writes reports regarding information security activity
  • Keeps current on latest developments and updates in information security technology
  • Performs related work as required JOB REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field
  • Three (3) or more years of IT network security experience
  • Additional qualifying experience or completion of coursework at an accredited college or university in a job-related field, may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience or education Preferences: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or other security certifications Special Requirements:
    • Essential Employees may be required to work during a declared emergency. The employee's Department Head will determine who will be required to work.
    • May be required to participate in on-call 24-hour support on a rotational basis
    • If assigned to Police, an in-depth employment background check will be conducted as part of the post offer onboarding process as this position is deemed security sensitive.
