and terminal services. SEACOR Island Lines modern fleet

We are currently seeking qualified candidates to join
our team for the following position:

The Safety Coordinator reports to the Safety Manager and
is responsible for carrying out assigned technical,
organizational, and administrative tasks for all areas
in a technically sound and independent manner. He/she is
responsible for assisting in the implementation and the
management of various procedures and programs related to
safety including reviewing processes, facilities, and
procedures to assure conformance to required
occupational safety & health standards. The Safety
Coordinator also assists with leading safety meetings,
activities, assessments, investigations and trainings.
He/She is knowledgeable with assigned regulations,
internal company policies, and is responsible for
communicating the appropriate and applicable
requirements to affected management persons and
employees. Other functions will include training,
communications, reporting, recordkeeping and compliance.
Performs assignments with limited supervision and
provides conceptual design assistance on HSSQE related
projects. Develop and implement challenging but
achievable objectives that clearly support
organizational goals.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and
practices in the workplace.
Conduct Job Safety Analysis and Risk Assessments.
Assist in developing controls for identified hazards.
Coordinate the implementation of controls from results
of hazard analysis. Measure and evaluate the
effectiveness of the hazard control system, policies,
and procedures and recommend changes that reflect
improved opportunities to eliminate work place accidents
and injuries.
Assists with safety training as required and help
manage the online training program.
Update the online safety portal as needed.
Organize the Safety Committee meetings.
Gather necessary data for weekly safety statistics.
Help manage the company s behavior based safety
Compile, analyze, interpret and report accident, loss,
and exposure statistical data; prepare recommendations
for corrective action to eliminate or minimize potential
Review injury and incident reports and perform root
cause analysis.
Partners with department heads on safety and accident
investigations to complete, or assist in the completion
of, investigations of accidents, injuries, incidents and
property/cargo damage,
Audit and counsel/assist all SIL facilities regarding
safety and environmental compliance.
Assist in ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, USCG,
U.S. Customs regulations.
Hands on participation in all HSSQE elements
including development, implementation, monitoring, and
enforcement of the all HSSQE programs, policies, and
procedures; assists with policy and procedure updates
and revisions; and may assist with, or complete, audits,
hazard analysis, accident, injury, incident, or damage
investigations as required.
Meets with customers, vendors, agents, management and
other employees as need to resolve problems as required.
Strong analytical skills, including ability to
interpret raw data into meaningful information
Proficient in computer systems and software
applications including spreadsheet applications.
Ability to work within, and communicate effectively
with, all levels of employees and management; including
small group settings.
Ability to work, with minimal supervision, maintaining
productively and efficiency when faced with stressful
situations, including maintaining effective interactions
with others.
Ability to apply appropriate safety procedures and
equipment to protect company and customer s assets.
Acts with urgency to meet and resolve employee and
customers' needs.
Ability to read, write, and speak English. Must have
good oral and written communication skills.
OSHA General Industry and/or Maritime Safety Training
Experience working in cross-functional programs
Must demonstrate customer and team focus.
Previous assignments/exposure requiring knowledge of
and adherence to EPA, OSHA, and USCG regulations
