ChildNet, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit community-based care (CBC) agency servicing Broward and Palm Beach County. We are contracted with the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families, to provide case management support to abused, abandoned, and neglected children. ChildNet is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) and employs over 450 staff at its location in Ft Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, Florida.

Job Summary: This position works with children and families assigned to Drug Court to promote the safety, well-being and permanency in out-of-home placement from the time of removal until the case is closed. The Lead Drug Court Specialist provides mentoring and coaching support to new Drug Court Specialist within the unit and is a Case Manager on assignment in accordance with ChildNet's policies and practices

  • Complete duties of a Drug Court Specialist.
  • Provide guidance and direction on ChildNet procedures, DCF guidelines, FSFN, Florida Statutes and Administrative Code, family assessments, JR notes, and HV notes.
  • Communicate client needs with supervisor and staff
  • Assist Drug Court Specialists with writing case reports, referrals, visitation reports, home studies, home visits, court appearances and coverage of court hearings.
  • Provide case management services to clients in accordance with established guidelines, regulations, and practices.
  • Promote the safety, well-being and permanency of children and their families. Meet with children in their homes or placement location.
  • Provide assistance to obtain medical coverage, financial assistance or housing assistance.
  • Provide comprehensive management of case plans. Prepare regular reports, complete evaluations, and make recommendations on children and family status.
  • Attend court hearings and provide recommendations to case judges.
  • Utilize available resources to achieve the best possible outcome in the shortest possible time during the intake and placement process, meeting established federal and state mandates, Florida Statutes, and ChildNet's policies and procedures.
  • Craft an initial plan for the child and families. Communicate court ordered requirements and need for care. Provide assistance to obtain Medicaid coverage. Coordinate transportation for the child(ren) , conducts supervised visits, provides medication as prescribed.
  • Gather case information to provide to the Revenue Maximization Department and Medical Unit. Assigns the cases to service centers based on geographical location and placement of the child(ren). Conduct follow-up with Child Protective Investigator to obtain missing information and forward to service centers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Skills/ Requirements:

    Years of Experience:

    • Two (2) years of Case Management experience preferred

      Education/Licenses/Certifications:

      • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field
      • Certified Child Welfare Professional
