WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
POSITION SUMMARY:
The BSA/AML Analytics Associate is primarily responsible for
ensuring the company complies with all BSA/AML/OFAC regulatory
requirements and internal policy and procedures, and SR 11-7:
Guidance on Model Risk Management. S/he will be responsible to
develop, tune, and maintain analytical models for BSA/AML/OFAC
operations (e.g., Transaction Monitoring, Watch List Screening,
Client Risk Rating, etc.). Evaluate quantitative approaches and
support systems to align analytical models with risk and regulatory
requirements. Core responsibilities include data collection,
analysis, building and implementing models, tuning, and enhancing
models, and model documentation. Research best practices and
monitor industry developments.
Monitors activities to minimize the company's exposure to risk.
Activities may include quantitative analysis, risk identification
and remediation. The BSA/AML Analytics Associate will also be
responsible for developing data reports to measure KPIs, KRIs and
productivity metrics for the AML and OFAC Operations Units, and
develop dashboards using visual analytics tools (e.g., Tableau) for
senior management reporting.
The BSA/AML Analytics Associate reports to the Director of BSA/AML
Intelligence.
POSITION DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
--- Assess and evaluates model conceptual soundness, model
assumptions, and data integrity
--- Communicate with senior management on risk modeling, decision,
and data for improved efficiency, effectiveness, and/or risk
reduction to the company
--- Develop new methodologies and approaches to the management of
model risk
--- Execute model risk management activities and projects
consistent with the Enterprise MRM framework, industry
best-practice and regulatory guidance
--- Inform perspective on market environment, future trends, and
emerging risk issues
--- Tests risk model numerical, statistical, and computational
accuracy; performs outcomes analysis; and reviews model governance
and control process
--- Actively participates on the on-going calibration/tuning
process for all BSA/AML/OFAC models
--- Proactively identify areas of issues or concerns related to
potential gaps in existing processes, procedures, policies,
frameworks
--- Promote a risk management culture by encouraging team to
embrace appropriate risk practices and supporting team members in
fulfilling risk management responsibilities
--- Respond to required corrective actions in a timely and complete
manner
--- Develop data reports to measure KPIs, KRIs and productivity
metrics for the AML and OFAC Operations Units
--- Develop dashboards using visual analytics tools (e.g., Tableau)
and consolidating the key metrics for senior management reporting
and committee deck reporting
--- Performing ad-hoc analysis reporting and participating in
regulatory initiatives or special projects as assigned by senior
management
--- Other duties as assigned or requested by Supervisor
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
--- Excellent programming skills in SAS, R or other quantitative
analysis tools
--- Knowledge of AML and experience using/supporting AML/Sanctions
modeling
--- Excellent knowledge and experience utilizing visual analytics
tools such as Tableau
--- Strong ability to access and analyze large volumes of data from
multiple sources
--- Strong ability to identify potential concerns, analyze and
solve problems,
ability to work effectively and independently to resolve such
issues
Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred or
equivalent experience
Business Experience: 5-7 years of relevant experience or
demonstrated required level of proficiency
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:
--- Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or related field
or equivalent work experience
--- At least 1-5 years in Modeling experience that may be a
combination of work experience and/or project work during
education
--- Strong quantitative and statistics background
--- SQL, SAS, R,or other quantitative tools
--- Visual analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power
BI)
--- Data Minining/Analytics
Licenses / Certifications: AML/Sanctions certifications
preferred

Working Conditions: Frequent Minimal physical effort such as
sitting, standing and walking. Occasional moving and lifting
equipment and furniture is required to support onsite and offsite
meeting setup and teardown. Physically capable of lifting up to
