The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for assuring that all UA Brands apparel meets or exceeds the brands' and customers' quality expectations. Systematic responsibility to facilitate quality and compliance-related issues or concerns. Responsible for evaluating PP/TOP samples and maintaining the PP/TOP library.WHAT YOU'LL DOReview and approve PPS (pre-production samples) from owned and sourced production suppliers. Meet milestone and service level agreement turn-times on these sample reviews. Issue clear and concise reports as to the status of the sample submitted to maintain production timelinesPerform all in-house fabric and garment testing for production as well as development. Execute material colorfastness testing according to the latest laboratory standards. Translate test results into recommendationsReport findings in a concise manner to leaders of quality, production, sourcing, design, and merchandising as well as suppliersFollow sampling plan to determine inspection quantity and the maximum number of defects maintaining the company standard AQL. Follow policies, principles, and standards within UA, including company fit, grading, measuring, construction, quality, and tolerance standardsAssist in conducting and reporting on random garment shipment sample reviews to continue the evolution of the quality lens in owned and sourced production suppliersResponsible for Managing and Maintaining PP/TOP (Garments) and bulk fabric submits libraryCollaborate with the product team, production, and outside vendors daily to develop business practices that ensure consistency and quality in a timely mannerWHAT YOU'LL BRINGBS/BA Degree - Apparel/Textile technology, Product Development in apparel production within the fashion industryKnowledge of garment construction and how to evaluate a garmentAnalysis of garment construction, manufacturing methods, and quality control proceduresDemonstrated technical experience and expertise working with overseas mills, suppliers, and manufacturersUnderstanding how to measureAbility to perform all physical fabric and garment testsKnowledge of laboratory colorfastness testing, dyeing processes, and the corresponding AATCC and ASTM standards as well as OKO Tex100 and ISO standardsComputer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Knowledge of (past use of) PLM systemsAbility to multi-task, proactively troubleshoot issues, independently problem solve and work effectively as a teamExtremely detail-oriented with excellent follow up skills; deadline-drivenProven experience building working relationships with cross-functional teamsWHERE YOU'LL WORK OFFICE-BASED - Fort Lauderdale HeadquartersJust a short distance from the beautiful Fort Lauderdale beaches - our home base of South Florida is a perfect reflection of our customer population and culturally rich and diverse team.
