Job Description:
Environmental Coordinator
The Environmental Coordinator will develop/implement our
environmental programs, policies, and assessments to ensure
compliance with all applicable environmental regulations. The
candidate will be a self-starter who can work both independently
and within a team environment.
Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:
--- Analyze projects pursuant to environmental laws, regulations,
and policies.
--- Perform field reconnaissance and resource evaluations.
--- Team with engineers, site designers, scientists, and other
committed specialists.
--- Compile documentation describing conditions and potential
impacts.
--- Develop and incorporate mitigation strategies and measures.
--- Assist with the coordination of permit and entitlement
approvals.
--- Interface with regulatory agency and client
representatives.
--- Assist with formulation of statements of work and budgets.
--- Participate in the management of project workflow and
QA/QC.
--- Ensure that federal, state and local laws, regulations, rules
and codes are observed and adhere to and on time.
--- Conduct training and course preparation to satisfactorily
maintain regulatory requirements
--- Conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical
conditions and safe work practices and identify and evaluate
hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace, if any
--- Provide advice and counseling for regulatory compliance
--- Help develop controls for identified hazards and coordinate the
implementation of controls from result of hazard analysis
--- Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard control
system, policies, and procedures and recommend changes that reflect
improved opportunities to eliminate workplace accidents and
injuries
--- Conducts required environmental observations, tests, and
analysis.
--- Evaluates test results and makes recommendations for
maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies.
--- Identify and review applicable regulations and apply them as
necessary.
--- Perform as required all storm water testing at required testing
intervals and submit reports accordingly.
--- Collect, identify, and categorize hazardous and nonhazardous
materials for disposal or recycle
--- Works with Departments, Vessels and Operations to ensure
compliance with regulations pertaining to potential storm water
pollutants and/or hazardous materials.
--- Identification of the area of influence.
--- Prepare an environment analysis report, consisting of a
diagnosis of the area of influence.
--- Identification of socio-environmental impacts and risks
--- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
--- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
--- BA/BS or graduate degree in environmental studies, engineering,
natural science, or planning.
--- Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA and applicable regulatory
agencies
--- Knowledge of ISO 45001:2018 a plus
--- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
--- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
--- Proficient on Microsoft Office Products
--- Must be able to maintain high ethical standards and genuine
concern for health, safety and environment
--- Knowledge of hazardous waste management, air/water/waste
permitting, and pollution prevention a plus
--- Excellent technical writing and analytical skills.
--- Work experience in marine industry desirable.
--- Familiarity with GPS data collection methods and equipment.
--- Operating knowledge of GIS software/geospatial technology.
