Job Description:
Volunteer Coordinator
SUMMARY: This full-time position will coordinate recruiting,
interviewing, and hiring Volunteers. Will assist in HR duties such
as benefits enrollment, staff recognitions, new
hire orientations, training and other HR functions relating to
Museum staff. Responsible for full coordination of the museum's
volunteer program including developing and implementing strategies
for enlisting and retaining volunteers. Will coordinate staff for
various Museum projects, programs, special events and visitor
needs.
QUALIFICATIONS: The position requires an individual who is
outgoing, enjoys working
with people and possesses excellent organizational and
communication skills. Requires a self- starter with a dedication to
recruiting volunteers and at least 1 year of experience. Must be
friendly and have the ability to build relationships and work with
people from a variety of demographics and diverse backgrounds.
Requires strong language and communication skills
(Written and oral). Experience with powerpoint presentations to
groups. Must have an enthusiastic and positive attitude toward
helping others and ability to work independently and on a team.
Must be dependable and available to work a flexible schedule,
including frequent presence on site, on weekends, and as special
events might require. Bachelor's degree. Computer literacy and
experience in a variety of software applications is necessary,
driver's license needed for offsite activities.
