DESCRIPTIONCollaborates with schools/districts, community agencies, business, and families through face -- -to -- -face and web-based applications to process and respond to referrals, complete intake inventories, obtain parent/guardian consent, conduct screenings, transition related assessments, student mentoring, and schedule individual student diagnostic evaluations and interventions between teachers/parents and appropriate KUMDC professionals. The School Liaison follows up with stakeholders to provide and disseminate report summaries, and ensure needs have been met. The School Liaison works with all KUMDC team members to implement effective practices. The School Liaison has expert skills and knowledge of exceptional student education services and supports for individuals who have complex intellectual, behavioral, physical, communication, and health needs, in order to augment school-district efforts to improve graduation, transition, and postsecondary outcomes for this population. Ability to travel to communities and districts served as needed as well as experience utilizing technology for program implementation.-- -The project requires the School Liaison to provide services to schools or community facilities located in-- -Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee, and St. Lucie counties. The position includes being a part of a team that provides exceptional services to schools and families and requires training, coordination, and documentation of work performed.-- -School Liaison must have a Master's degree and 4 to 10 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.-- - Must also have a Florida Professional Teaching Certificate and/or equivalent state/national professional license or certification in respective field and a valid Driver's License.This is a full time position and is grant-funded and is dependent on continuation of grant funding and quality evaluation of work performed.-- -For consideration, only online applications will be accepted. This policy complies with all state and local laws and is based upon guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and public health and licensing authorities, as applicable.This policy applies to all KU employees: faculty (including regular full-time and part-time faculty, administrative faculty, and adjunct faculty), regular full-time and part-time non-faculty staff, temporary employees, third party vendors and individuals receiving offers of employment in any of these categories. Individuals receiving offers of employment are required to timely comply with this policy prior to the commencement of employment by attesting to a completed vaccination or receipt of HR vaccine exemption approval. Individuals receiving offers of employment from KU who do not timely comply with this policy will have their offer of employment rescinded.Employees who do not want to vaccinate due to a strong moral conviction must document this within our internal portal. Much like those with accommodation requests they must comply with wearing of a mask while on campus per the CDC social distancing guidelines in addition to mandatory testing twice per week.
