Job Description:

DG has an exciting opportunity for and IT Support Associate that will be responsible for ensuring continuity of computer system services for DG computer users. He/she will provide general desktop and printer support and maintains DG's computer workstations and software for all employees.Responsibilities of the IT Support Associate:

  • Performs hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, hardware and configuring systems and applications.
  • Analyzes, logs, tracks and resolves routine software/hardware matters of pertaining to networking connectivity issues, printers, servers, scanners, cameras and applications to meet business needs.
  • Performs troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
  • Records, tracks, and documents the help desk request ticketing system in a courteous manner, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to the final resolution.
  • Maintains records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule.
  • Keeps IT equipment inventory system up to date.
  • Assists with server back-ups, server administration and maintenance, security updates, firewalls and general maintenance of network infrastructure.
  • Along with IT team members, provides DG staff with technical support for computer problems and trains end users in computer system use and ensures security and privacy of networks and computer systems
  • Assists with IT proposals to assess project feasibility and requirements, and determines and recommends new hardware/software/peripherals acquisitions.
  • Other tasks as assigned by management.
  • Follows all DG safety procedures as per company policies and per the Facility Engineer/Safety Director.Minimum Qualifications of the IT Support Associate:
    • Associates Degree in Computer Science or Information Sciences; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
    • Minimum 2 years' experience in an Information Technology environment
    • Knowledge and training in: Computer Hardware, Basic Networking, Operating systems (Microsoft Windows and Linux) and Application support experience with a working knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities.
    • Familiarity with a broad spectrum of IT technologies. Ability to learn new technologies; and balance and prioritize many projects simultaneously.
    • Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills
    • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
    • Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
