Job Title: Workshop Section Leader: Components & Engine

Department: MSHS SBU-FL

Summary: The person in this position is responsible for supervising various workshop-based processes which deliver quality workshop solutions and packaging of company represented products and solutions. The person in this role is also responsible for documenting processes and initiating process improvements while ensuring quality control, expedient and efficient productivity. Accurate technical reporting will be expected. This role will especially be focused on identifying continuous improvement processes, and developing guiding the assigned workshop staff members, including cross-training and individual employee growth plans and learning.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Leading the workshop team for the section and overseeing the work quality and productivity
Personnel management includes ensuring balanced workloads and productivity among the team, approving processes or process changes for the team, providing performance reviews, career development paths, training and/or facilitating training and cross-training, and providing competence assessments for the team.

Business Related Tasks Include

Leading the workshop team for the section and overseeing the work quality and productivity
Personnel management includes ensuring balanced workloads and productivity among the team, approving processes or process changes for the team, providing performance reviews, career development paths, training and/or facilitating training and cross-training, and providing competence assessments for the team.
Business related tasks include:

Workshop Processes and Organization (cleanliness, layout, work-flow)

End-Product Reliability/Quality and customer satisfaction

Balanced personnel utilization

Accurate record keeping, measurements and professional condition and service reporting

Time Efficiency, Cost Management

Technician Safety

Protection of tooling and equipment, including overseeing maintenance and consumables

Customer Experience (regular schedule updates)

Proactive updates to internal / external stakeholders as the case may be

Designing and implementing workshop efficiency improving processes

Employee retention

Development of talent for new types of work to be performed

Other Business Unit needed tasks as may be deemed necessary

Requirements Of Education And Experience
Technical degree plus minimum. 3 years industry experience.
Or, minimum of 5 years experience in a related technical workshop role and 3 years experience in a supervisory or administrative role.
