Lead Educator - Teen Pregnancy Prevention

Job Title: Lead Educator
Reports to: Prevention Program Coordinator & Senior Program Manager
Status: Full-time / Non-Exempt
Salary: $40k

Position Summary:
Lead Educator will support OIC's Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program (TPP), which includes evidence-based pregnancy prevention curriculums: Reducing the Risk (RTR); Making Proud Choices: An Adaptation for Youth in Out-of Home Care (MPC) and Love Notes 3.0 paired with positive youth development and trauma informed educational approaches serving at-risk youth ages 10 to 19. The Lead Educator is responsible for delivering TPP program instruction with fidelity, collecting performance measurement data and implementing positive youth development activities. The Lead Educator assist with program coordination task, providing direction to 6-10 other educators, and provides group and educational services for participants and parents of the TPP Project, support community saturation through community engagement and outreach in multiple settings. Meet all programmatic performance and compliance directives of the grant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Effectively deliver evidence-based curricula using a virtual or physical platform for program, reinforcing age-appropriate language and medically accurate instructional strategies.
Operate with a high level of professionalism and maturity
Provide curriculum delivery support and assistance to Educators
Collect and provide feedback on evidence-based curricula, and make recommendations to Program leadership team regarding program revisions.
Assist the Community Outreach & Mobilization efforts by identifying and securing middle and high schools, alternative schools, and community-based sites to host TPP educational programming for project youth.
Build and maintain strong community relationship and partnerships.
Meet performance measurement objectives in alignment with program work plan and community saturation goals
Routinely review the most current CDC, NIH and state and local vital stats to ensure program materials adhere to medical accuracy and report any findings to Program leadership.
Ensure that enrollment forms, fidelity logs, referrals and attendance data and all performance measures are entered into OPTS program database on a daily/weekly basis, within the prescribed timelines.
Assist in scheduling Educators to ensure proper coverage at all sites.
Provide training to volunteers, students, and new team members as requested.
Assist in coordinating special events, including the Youth Leadership Academy and Teen Pregnancy Prevention Rally for youth and community stakeholders.
Assist team in coordinating educational support meetings for parents of project youth, which include encouraging parental involvement, facilitating relevant topics of interest (STIs, determinants of teen pregnancy, etc.), securing guest speakers, and providing resources and referrals as needed.
Prepare monthly reports.
Develop and maintain project resources.
Attend OAH trainings as directed by supervisor.
Attend scheduled community meetings and events as directed by supervisor.
Attend professional development trainings and internal and community meetings deemed necessary by the Division Director, Program leadership staff. Attend monthly program team meetings. Follow all requirements agency policies, procedures and guidelines Employ trauma-informed educational practices.
Ensure that program activities remain inclusive, promote cultural and LGBTQ sensitivity and enforce anti-harassment protocols.
Assist Educators in coordinating special events and positive youth development activities, which include the following: skits and role plays, role model presentations, and end-of-program recognition events.
Conduct research and develop/update program materials for ongoing improvement strategies.
Prepare monthly reports, develop and maintain project resources.
Follow all requirements and guidelines of the program funder under the guidance of supervisor.
Share program and community resources with other team members as needed.
Submit monthly statistics to the leadership team in a timely manner as required.
Complete Exit Surveys and Site Implementation forms in accordance to policy.
Attend scheduled meetings deemed necessary by the Project Director.
Provide support for program sustainability and resource development efforts.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Health, Sociology, Social Work, Human Services or Education preferred. Five years of experience providing teen pregnancy prevention programs, health education, professional counseling, teaching or educational programming. Ability to maintain professional working relationships with other team members, school personnel, community providers and corporate partners. Knowledge of teen pregnancy determinants, youth development principles and effective teaching strategies required. Ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural, ethnic and social groups. Hold a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance. Because of the nature of our work with youth, all applicants must be able to pass a Level Il Background Screening as required by the Broward County School District.
Other Skills and Abilities: Must be computer proficient with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to work independently and as a team member. Ability to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines.

--- Competency working with adolescents. Strong presentation and classroom management skills with a proven ability to engage and retain program participants.
--- Ability to build and maintain professional working relationships with other team members, school personnel, community/service providers. Knowledge of adolescent pregnancy determinants and youth development principles.
--- Ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural, ethnic and social groups. Bilingual skills (English, Spanish, French, Creole) are a plus.
--- Strong organizational and analytical skills. Must be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, ZOOM, and Prezi. Qualifications may be proven through exam or presentation. Strong oral and written communication skills.
--- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to work independently and as a team member. Ability to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines. A team orientated, creative and resourceful individual who is a strategic thinker, problem solver with strong decision making abilities. Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple task and work in a fast paced environment.
--- Performing the duties of this position requires the ability to walk, sit, stand, reach, talk, hear and lift presentation materials, including equipment. This position will require independent travel between local schools and other venues. Must maintain valid Driver's License and insurance coverage on personal vehicle at all times during employment.
