Job Description:
If you have experience in estate planning, you may be an
excellent addition to our growing law firm. We are looking for a
highly analytical candidate with good negotiation and organizing
skills who can work full-time. As our estate planning attorney, you
will draft wills, trusts, and powers of attorney for our clients
and their families. To ensure that an estate's management is
handled in accordance with the wishes of the estate owner, this
position requires a significant level of responsibility. The
applicant we are looking for must have extensive knowledge of
estate planning.
The position will require consultation with clients and designing
estate plans depending upon client needs. The right candidate will
be able to take over the senior partner's caseload so that the
senior partner can focus more on the business of the firm.
Experience with probate and the ability to manage a junior
associate is also preferred.
Responsibilities:
Consult clients about your plans for distributing their assets
Provide clients with information about retirement plans, charitable
contributions, and insurance choices
Create wills, trusts, and powers of attorney for your clients
Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the
situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan
of action
--- Meet with clients and design estate plans
--- Analyze client needs and recommend appropriate services
--- Assign work to paralegals and legal assistants
--- Handle estate plan signing meetings
Qualifications:
--- Must have a minimum of 5 years of estate plan drafting
experience, with no exceptions
--- Must have used Wealth Counsel software and be able to navigate
without training
--- Must be able to self-manage caseload
--- LL.M. in Estate Planning or Taxation or comparable work
experience
--- Drafting of 706, 709, and 1041 returns is a plus
