POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT

Moss' Payroll Assistant provides comprehensive support for Payroll Department's essential tasks with the utmost confidentiality, punctuality, and positive attitude. Keeps the office running with great efficiency and professionalism and works at developing and maintaining detailed and procedural processes that improve accuracy, efficiency and achieves organizational objectives.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparing monthly anniversary reports needed to calculate bonuses (Magic sheet and Hours/Dollars Report).
  • Enter and pay correct weekly bonuses ensuring the date entry (job charged and amount) is accurate.
  • Log pay changes and bonuses within the company's payroll software.
  • Enter timesheets for corporate officers, overhead employees, and any division/job requiring assistance.
  • Review timesheets edit list to ensure proper hours and phase and/or cost code is entered accurately.
  • Process and post Payroll.
  • Print checks or email direct deposit stubs. FedEx checks to the various jobsites.
  • Upload direct deposit files to the various banks.
  • Assist with running and preparing the reports and the upload and payment of weekly payroll taxes.
  • Assist with the upload of the 401K file to Fidelity Investments.
  • Assist with the preparation of all bonus payments including the paperwork back-up for them, the approval for them, and the logging and filing of them for all employees on their anniversary.

    Qualifications & Requirements
    • High School diploma required. Some college preferred.
    • 4-8 years payroll experience required.
    • Microsoft Excel - Advanced skills a plus but at least basic skills required.
    • Microsoft Word--Basic Skills a must.
    • Experience working with CMIC system is plus.
    • Must be highly organized, label making, folder making, etc.
    • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to deal calmly and professionally with all personality traits throughout the company.
    • Able to understand basic math and numbers to calculate pay wages, bonus amounts, and appropriate deductions for health and dental premiums.
    • Microsoft Excel - Advanced skills a plus but at least basic skills required.
    • Microsoft Word--Basic Skills a must.
    • Must be highly organized and pay close attention to detail.
    • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to deal calmly and professionally with all personality traits throughout the company.
    • Able to understand basic math and numbers to calculate pay wages, taxes, and bonus amounts.
    • Confidentiality with employees pay info and personal data is a must.
    • College degree preferred.

      Additional Experience
      • Respond to phone calls and emails from employees inquiring about their pay, taxes, vacation, etc.
      • Scan all necessary paperwork daily to the employees' profile within CMiC.
      • Scan all documents to the appropriate folder on the S Drive.
      • Fill out and submit unemployment forms.
      • Complete employee verification forms.
      • Assist with the paperwork, payments, and posting of employee garnishments.
