one patient at a time. How you make a difference The Travel
Director of Nursing provides leadership and oversight of nursing
services by planning, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive
nursing programs across multiple facilities as needed to fill
vacancies. This role ensures nursing practices comply with
contractual obligations, accreditation standards, and state
regulations while maintaining consistent quality of patient care.
The position coordinates staffing, scheduling, orientation,
training, and continuing education for nursing personnel in
collaboration with the Health Services Administrator. The Travel
Director of Nursing actively participates in quality improvement,
infection control, pharmacy and therapeutics, and risk management
activities, ensuring required reports and follow-up actions are
completed timely. This role serves as a liaison between nursing
services, medical providers, facility leadership, and external
agencies while remaining visible, responsive, and available for
on-call nursing emergencies. Key Responsibilities Leads and
oversees nursing services operations to ensure compliance with
clinical standards, accreditation requirements, and contractual
obligations Manages nursing staffing, scheduling, recruitment,
retention, and performance evaluations Coordinates patient care
delivery, orientation, training, and continuing education for
nursing staff Participates in quality improvement, infection
control, pharmacy and therapeutics, and risk management activities
Serves as a liaison among nursing services, medical providers,
facility leadership, and external agencies Qualifications &
Requirements EDUCATION Graduation from an accredited School of
Nursing EXPERIENCE Three (3) to five (5) years of administrative,
management, and supervisory experience Five (5) years of experience
in delivery and administration of correctional medical, dental, and
mental health care preferred LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS Current
licensure as a Registered Nurse within the state of employment CPR
certification Additional Details This position requires extensive
travel. Candidate will need to reside in State of Florida.
