We are currently seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician to join a high-quality healthcare team in the Fort Lauderdale, FL area. This locum tenens opportunity offers flexibility, a supportive work environment, and the chance to work in both a main Emergency Department (ED) and a Free-Standing Emergency Department (FSED). The position provides a wide variety of cases in a busy, dynamic setting. Start dates are flexible, and the opportunity will be available until permanent hires are found, possibly extending through summer 2025. Position Overview: Position: Emergency Medicine Physician (Locum Tenens) Location: Near Fort Lauderdale, FL Job Reference: Job ID Board Certification Required: Board Eligible or Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM only) Key Highlights: Facility Overview: Work at a main ER with 43 beds and a Free-Standing Emergency Department (FSED), serving a variety of patients with a wide range of medical conditions. Non-trauma center, but the facility is a Comprehensive Stroke and STEMI Center, with a high-acuity patient population in the main ER. The FSED tends to have lower-acuity cases but still offers diverse emergency care. Main ER handles approximately 150 patients per day, with the FSED managing about 60 patients daily. Supportive Environment: Fully staffed ED with nurses, techs, and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). 2-3 APPs and 6-8 Emergency Medicine residents per shift at the main ER, providing ample support and learning opportunities. EM residents also assist at the FSED, making it a great environment for collaborative care. Shift Details: Main ER shifts: 6 AM-4 PM, 9 AM-8 PM, 11 AM-11 PM, 4 PM-3 AM, and 8 PM-7 AM. FSED shifts: 6 AM-6 PM, 6 PM-6 AM for physicians; APPs from 10 AM-10 PM; residents from 2 PM-12 AM. No call or on-call responsibilities. Core Responsibilities: Handle typical emergency medicine procedures and manage a variety of cases, including cardiac, neurological, and other acute medical emergencies.
