Arc Broward operates at 9 locations and provides 21 programs throughout Broward County, including its two pioneering Social Enterprises - Arc Educates and Arc Culinary.This position is responsible for providing physical therapy services for individuals to facilitate age appropriate independence in gross motor coordination, balance, strengthening activities, motor planning activitiesEssential Function/Duties:Treatment: Provide treatment and implement developmentally appropriate objectives and strategies (plans) under supervision and guidance of Physical Therapist and using best practice modalities. Actively function as part of the interdisciplinary team.Coordinate and collaborate with other therapists and appropriate staff. Promote the participation caregivers on an ongoing basis in discussions of goals, strategies, carryover of plans and progress; Monitor progress toward meeting outcomes; involve caregivers and provide training, support and oversight as needed.Health and Safety: Responsibly ensure that clients supported are safe and living healthy lives by monitoring safety issues, practicing appropriate emergency medical and behavioral procedures, responding to emergencies, promoting rights regarding health and safety, and actively promote and ensure workplace safety.Documentation: Complete all required documentation including but not limited to case/progress notes, attendance records, treatment plans and progress reviews, and data; maintain complete, timely and accurate records/documentation.Public Relations: Successfully promotes public relations by educating community members about persons with disabilities and the organization's mission and advocating for the rights and responsibilities individuals with disabilitiesCommunication: Interact with clients and staff in a positive, warm, nurturing manner that builds trust; Communicate with other agencies/persons as needed with proper releases; ensure timely and thorough information exchange with all team membersTeam relations: Establish a personal identity on the team. Function as a member of a person-centered team. Establish and maintain a positive partnership with caregivers through open, supportive and respectful communication and shared planningParticipate in the team-building process, discussions, problem-solving, making decisions, using effective communication, Interact in a manner demonstrating courtesy, patience, diplomacy, discretion and self-control.Training: Provide staff with training to enhance skills and ensure proper implementation of strategiesStandards: Implement standard operating procedures; adequately understand and consistently implement current federal, state and local licensing rules and regulations, agency policies and practices, contract requirements and protection of consumer rights in compliance with F.S. Chapter 393 Client Bill of Rights Adhere to CARF Standards and Medicaid and other regulatory and legal mandatesKeep license current. Implement standard operating procedures; adequately understand and consistently implement current federal, state and local licensing rules and regulations, agency policies and practicesProfessional Development: Remain abreast of advances in Physical Therapy methodologies and practices.
