Job Description:

Medical Office Receptionist Duties: --- Greet patients in a courteous and friendly manner. --- Screen calls, arranges appointments and referrals for specialist Doctors. --- Prepares new records, files, and maintains records. --- Type correspondence, reports, memos, and forms as requested by physician and/or administration. --- Prepare billing packets of each day for billing department --- Perform insurance pre-verifications. --- Take clear and concise phone messages --- Schedule appointments daily --- Collect co-pays, deductibles and inquire on previous balances --- Maintain order and file charts --- Create new patient packets and charts --- Always keep front area neat and tidy --- Distribute incoming reports and correspondence and files in patient charts Skills/Qualifications: Office Supply Management, Verbal Communication, Infection Control, Creating a Safe and Effective Environment, Organization, Scheduling, Professionalism, Patient Focus, Confidentiality, H.S. Graduate. Previous medical office experience preferred with some managerial background. Patient Services skills/experience. Ability to comprehend established office routines and policies. FRONT OFFICE COORDINATOR --- Ability to keep financial records and perform mathematical tasks --- Knowledge of medical terminology --- Understand HIPPA and OSHA regulations and privacy practices --- Good organizational skills and multi-tasked abilities --- Computer skills --- Must be able to learn quickly from oral and written instructions --- Must be dependable Personal Qualities: --- Able to work well under pressure. --- Ability to communicate well with people in personal contacts and on the phone. --- Can be trusted with confidential information. --- Can effectively act as a liaison between patients and physicians. --- Must have a neat and friendly appearance. --- Ability to communicate and get along with co-workers Other Duties: --- Any other duties relating to the business operation of the medical practice that may be assigned by the physician or office manager. Practice administration, if requested. --- Other duties as determined by needs of the practice administrator.Job Requirements:

  • Ensure all medical record/patient charts contain necessary documentation for medical appointments and educational sessions
  • Verify medical appointments, and call in refills
  • Play a very important role to patients
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day patient flow of office operations
  • Complete charting, collect & distribute medical record documents related to patient
  • Completing all referrals requested by providers, obtaining authorizations, faxing records to specialist offices, calling patients, taking patient phone calls, helping patients in lobby
  • Assist RNs and Physician in the treatment and care coordination of Diabetes patients and families
  • Take messages & places calls and other communications to/from insurance companies, pharmacy, school or parents
  • Received from pharmaceutical rep's, insurance plans & pharmacies about new products, authorization and billing guidelines
  • Receive information from outside parties for update of provider-related information in computer system(s)
  • Ensure accurate entries of information into health plan systems
  • Analyze data by applying job knowledge to ensure appropriate information
  • Ensure adherence to business and system requirements of internal customers as pertains to other provider network management areas, such as provider contracts
  • Work on projects as assigned and within parameters
  • Maintain department quality standards for provider demographic data with affiliation and fee schedule attachment
  • Obtain prior authorization & verify and respond to questions on diabetic supplies (pumps, pens, insulin)
