OverviewWe are seeking a local candidiate for a Medical Records
Clerk - Remote role to join our Team! Advanced Recovery Systems is
an integrated behavioral healthcare management company dedicated to
the treatment of addiction, substance abuse, eating disorders and
mental health issues. We put behavioral health front and center,
providing assistance to people with substance abuse issues,
addictions and mental health concerns.With facilities in various

substance abuse or mental illness.ResponsibilitiesThe Medical
Records Clerk maintains all medical records within standards of
compliance. Only considering applicants who are local in the South
Florida Market.Works effectively with the facility leadership team
to ensure success of the facility by completing the following:Core
Job Duties* Contacts physicians and other ancillary service
personnel regarding signatures. * Assists medical/ clinical staff
by providing information as to required documentation. *
Communicates very closely with medical/clinical staff to answer
questions and resolve problems to ensure quality documentation in
the health records. * Prepares lists of paper health records needed
for signature(s) that are located in the incomplete record area for
distribution to appropriate service lines. * Promptly completes all
incoming requests for medical records and other medical forms. *
Promptly completes all outgoing requests for medical records and
other medical forms for all facility departments. * Routes requests
for medical information and other correspondence to appropriate
person or entities, ie. Transferring Physicians or Facilities
(ROI). * Assists in locating and identifying records and reports.
Other Requires Tasks* Utilizes basic knowledge of medical
terminology, anatomy and physiology, and coding to research and
collect information for various medical studies and research
projects. * Participates in approved quality improvement focused
reviews. * Assists with capture and reporting of health record
documentation deficiencies as needed. * Performs analytical tasks
associated with the resolution of "coding" errors. * Filing,
scanning and uploading of documents into the facility's EMR. *
Maintaining records within standards of compliance. * Maintain
healthy boundaries. * Maintain regular contact and open
communication with families as needed. * Demonstrate good strategic
and problem-solving skills. * Ensure that documentation is timely,
consistent, clear and articulate. * Accept and utilize supervision.
* Address problems noted by supervisor. * Demonstrate willingness
to accept responsibility. * Pursue professional development through
participation in education and training programs. * Function well
as a team member and contribute positively to the morale of staff.
* Maintain good communication. * Reporting any concerns to
immediate supervisor. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications*
High School diploma or equivalent. * Minimum one (1) year
experience in health information management field. * Health
Information Management preferred. KnowledgeMedical record keeping
procedures, office terminology, procedures and equipment, medical
terminology, the disease process, regulations governing the
maintenance of medical records, the standard classified
nomenclature of diseases, ICD-9-CM, ICD-10, CPT, E/M and Behavioral
Health terminology. State & Federal Statutes Regarding Patient
Confidentiality laws; Drug-Free Workplace Policies; Workplace
Violence; Corporate Integrity & Compliance Program; Substance Abuse
and/or Mental Health; Customer and Personal Service; Mathematics;
Education and Training; Clerical; Computers and Electronics;
Reporting.SkillsDependability, tact, confidentiality, organized,
able to work in a fast-paced environment, physically capable of
performing the essential functions of the position with or without
reasonable accommodation. Active listening, Speaking, Coordination,
Social Perceptiveness, Critical Thinking, Judgment, Monitoring,
Reading Comprehension.AbilitiesMaintain a variety of medical
records neatly and accurately, follow detailed oral and written
instructions, apply coding and indexing systems to medical records,

recognize inconsistencies and omissions in medical record.
