Job Description JOB PURPOSE: The Accounting Manager is responsible for the preparation, review and submission of accurate and timely financial statements, reports and analysis. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Direct, coordinate and supervise the work of senior and staff accountants to ensure all deadlines are met and all department goals are achieved. 2. Teach, coach and mentor senior and staff accountants so that they develop professionally and are prepared to take on greater roles in the department. 3. Coordinate workflow to maximize efficiency and optimize resource utilization. 4. Assist with the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for various corporate entities. 5. Responsible for timely and accurate monthly and annual close process, financial statement preparation, financial reporting design and production, variance analysis for the various corporate entities. 6. Assist with budgeting and maintain updated forecast to present to corresponding business unit owners. 7. Reconciliation of Intercompany transactions between entities. 8. Work closely with other internal departments and outside organizations as needed. 9. Coordinate and manage year-end audits with external CPA firm. 10. Develop and implement policies and procedures with emphasis on internal controls and best practices. 11. Assist with ad hoc projects as needed. Proactive and takes initiative WORK ENVIORMENT While performing the responsibilities of this position, the work environment characteristics listed below are representative of the environment the employee will encounter: -- Usual office working conditions. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with CSUSA salary and benefit policy. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by Charter Schools USA. FLSA OVERTIME CATEGORY Job is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. EVALUATION Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Charter Schools USA---s policy. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors Degree in Accounting with 5 years of professional experience Certified Public Accountant highly preferred Netsuite ERP System (Oracle) highly preferred Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience Strong knowledge of accounting principles Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software Commitment to company values Such alternatives to the above that CSUSA may find appropriate and acceptable Company Description Charter Schools USA is one of the oldest, largest and fastest-growing education management companies in the United States.
