SummarySeeking a Sr. Operations Manager, on a full-time basis reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations. The primary responsibilities include, but is not limited to, managing all aspects of servicing Company's client accounts, which includes direct management of the loan servicing- and payments platform which, in turn, directly interfaces with the origination platform, banking platform, accounting platform, risk management platform, credit bureaus, and customer service platform. Additional key responsibilities include identifying and reducing operational risks whilst driving improvements with the ultimate objective to scale-up the business model.
Essential Functions

  • Run day-to-day account servicing and collections on performing loans and receivables purchase agreements. This requires keeping track of performance metrics, taking corrective actions, analyzing bottlenecks, and implementing solutions that bring process performance to the next level.
  • Manage and enhance, when appropriate, the entire back office processes - overseeing a wide range of operational activities. These include but are not limited to vetting customer's applications, performing 2nd level underwriting reviews, issuing loan and receivables purchase agreements, applying payments to individual accounts, taking direct collections action, issuing monthly statements, etc.
  • Liaise with VP of Operations on the operational aspects of the Payments platform, includes driving launch readiness of new product features and building out the operational platform.
  • Liaise with the Credit & Collections Manager on the operational aspects of managing delinquent accounts - including the identification of delinquent accounts, applying resolutions, and credit reporting disputes (via e-Oscar).
  • Liaise with the Customer Service Team and the Compliance Team (when needed) on Customer Complaints Handling, including tracking and managing the resolution process.
  • Manage, coach and/or mentor assigned Operations' staff.
  • Enhance collection procedures that reduce the number of delinquencies in close collaboration with the Credit & Collection Manager.
  • Conduct various assessments to ensure operations procedures are achieving accurate and desired results in close collaboration with IT and the VP pf Operations (when needed).
  • Liaise with Risk & Compliance, VP of Operations, and IT on creating strategies or implement programs and set guidelines for methods to identify potential operational risks, including the development of action plans to eliminate risks to the company.
  • Work with system provider(s) to utilize applications to fullest capacity, streamlining processes and procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Analyze, prepare, train for periodic updates to system software, and verify that enhancements are working correctly (in close collaboration with IT).
  • Participate in the review and recommendations of operational systems and procedures.
  • Assist in (a) the preparation of regular presentations on the overall status of Company's operations and (b) the delivery of results and improvement plans to senior management.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of all Company's Policies and Procedures, including but not limited to the Code of Ethics Policy, Credit Policies & Operating Procedures, KYC/AML Policy, Information Security Policies, among others.
  • Oversee the review process of all credit files as needed to ensure quality, consistency and compliance with collection guidelines and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (when applicable).
  • Remain informed on regulatory changes that may impact digital lending and payments platforms. Qualifications and Skills:
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Operations, or equivalent work experience.
    • Proven experience with working capital and cash management products, a plus.
    • Demonstrated knowledge in NLS or equivalent, a plus.
    • Experience and subject matter expertise in financial services delivery and product operations, risk, payments, e-commerce, organizational change, and launch readiness.
    • Deep knowledge of credit operations; factoring a plus.
    • Familiar with payments operations, risk and payments network policies, capabilities, use cases, requirements, and workflows.
    • Experience in designing and improving operational processes and workflows for the most efficient and effective service experience.
    • Demonstrated success in leading Service Operations teams.
    • Ability to (re)prioritize projects and initiatives, Action oriented.
    • Communicate effectively, written and verbal; able to multitask.
