Job Description:

The Project Management Advisor (PM) is responsible for providing overall management of the design, construction and commissioning of energy efficiency improvement, Combined Heat & Power (CHP), and renewable generation projects.

The construction and commissioning work will be performed by Subcontractors managed by the PM. The PM will work with our internal Technical Services, Development, Procurement, Operations, Asset Management, as well as our 3 rd Party Owner's Engineer(s) and other consultants to oversee the design of the project and will manage the on-site Construction Management team to oversee and monitor the work and provide training and mentoring. The candidate must have experience managing complex construction projects.

What you'll do:

  • Oversee and advances projects during development phase, through construction and Project Closeout to Handover to O&M/Asset Management.
  • Manage the Project Team including the contractors, the Owner's Engineer, the on-site Construction Monitoring Team and other project administration staff. The on-site team will include individuals responsible for construction monitoring, safety, logistics, and quality control.
  • Create, maintain and manage each project's Project Execution Plan.
  • Manage multiple construction and pre-construction projects simultaneously.
  • Conduct weekly meetings including design reviews, Owner updates, site coordination and Executive project updates.
  • Track contractual requirements and deliverables for all project contracts.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports.
  • Manage construction contracts, invoices, change order requests, submittals and RFI's.
  • Manage the procurement of Major Equipment and associated supply agreements.
  • Prepare cost forecast reports.
  • Assist with pre-construction activities.
  • Assist in the creation of bid packages bid evaluations, SOW creation, contract negotiations and execution.
  • Assist with the management of the project schedule and schedule updates.
  • Manage the development and implementation of commissioning.
  • Manage the development and implementation of the document controls processes.
    • Build, foster, and maintain a collaborative working environment within the Project Team.
    • Coordinate and collaborate with and facilitate communications with all internal and external project stakeholders
      What you bring:
      • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field preferred
      • Minimum of 7 years' experience, including training and/or certifications
      • Experience in Mechanical or Electrical contracting is preferred
      • Experience with solar and waste water treatment plants preferred
      • Proficient with MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
      • Familiarity with Procore
      • Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes and sequencing
      • Leadership and problem-solving skills
      • Ability to lead and adapt in a demanding, ever-changing environment
      • Takes a collaborative approach to getting the work done
      • Physical ability to conduct regular site walks
      • Project Management Professional certification (PMP) or willingness to obtain PMP is strongly preferred
        Additional Information/Conditions:
        • Willing to travel up to 20%, including overnight stays.
        • Willing to work remote and telecommute as required.
        • Ability to meet highest attendance requirements.
        • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally.
        • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy.
        • Could involve some lifting.
        • Must hold a valid driver's license.
