Jacobs is much more than just a traditional engineering company. As
a vital member of our Florida & Puerto Rico team, you'll have the
opportunity to work on transportation projects that focus on
bridges and other transportation structure designs. Working
alongside a team of technicians and engineers, you'll be
responsible for creating drawings and simulations using software
tools and resources supporting our clients' overall project goals.
Our Associate Level Bridge Engineering professional prepares final
designs and drawings for variously sized bridges related projects.
You'll serve as a core team member to help successfully deliver
quality projects. Working closely with other disciplines, you'll
assist with field assignments as related to transportation
structures, reviewing shop drawings and answer RFI's during
construction. Here's What You'll Need:
- Master's Degree in Civil Engineering and/or Structural
Engineering
- 10-20 years minimum bridge design experience and transportation
structure design
- Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Design Code, FDOT Bridge
Specifications, ACI and ASCI Design Codes
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Florida
- Assist in the creation of engineering documents including
Bridge Development Reports (BDR), Bridge Load Rating (BLR)
Calculation, and Design Technical Proposals
- Skill with bridge design including Reinforced Concrete Bridges,
Prestressed/Post-tensioned Concrete Bridges, Steel Plate, and Box
Girder Bridges, Retaining Walls, Box Culverts, Sign/Signal
Structures, Sound Barrier Walls, and other transportation-related
structures
- Familiarity with FDOT plans preparation criteria and design
standards
- Review shop drawings and other construction related
submittals
- Proficient with Microstation or AutoCADD and MathCAD
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Office Suite
- Proficiency in Structural Engineering Software including Leap
Bridge, Conspan, RC-Pier, STAAD, MDX, Midas, FB-MultiPier, SAP2000,
CSI Bridge, Midas Civil and other bridge design software
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to
form effective relationships with other team members
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and organizational skills At
