Summary: Project Engineer position is designed to cross-train an individual in the functions of the Door & Hardware Division and support the Project Management team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assists the Project Management team with the planning and daily execution of construction projects. Assists the Project Manger in reviewing and processing of submittals/shop drawings to ensure materials are delivered on-time Assists in pricing and preparing Change Order proposals Assists in ensuring that all changes, RFI's, etc are incorporated into the project documents as necessary. Assists in preparing project start-up and close-out documents. Assist in preparing and monitoring all logs for tracking and monitoring of all contract documents as determined necessary for a successful project. Posses a working knowledge of project plans, specifications, scope of work, etc, of all projects assigned. Assist Field Superintendent to monitor and expedite delivery of materials as well as ensuring the project is constructed in accordance with the contract documents. Attend Project meetings as necessary. Keep Project Manager's fully informed in a timely manner with regard to any and all items that may have an impact on project completion or budget. Build an effective relationship with customers, both internal and external, suppliers, sub-contractors and the Project Management team that reflect and support LCF's mission statement and exceeds the customer's expectations. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
