Job Description:

We are a well-established family-owned and operated produce company based in South Florida and we are currently seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team. As an integral part of the finance team, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the company's accounting records, ensuring accuracy, and compliance, and supporting financial analysis and reporting. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and proficiency in financial software and programs such as Ppro.What You'll Do:Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records, including invoicing, payments, and general accounting duties.Support the month end, quarter end, and year-end closing processRegularly maintain and reconcile journal entries that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payrollManage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliationEnsure the accuracy of all financial transactions by entering data into the accounting software and performing regular reviews.Prepare financial statements and reports, interpreting accounting procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and laws.Collaborate with other personnel within the organization to gather necessary financial information and ensure data accuracy.Perform bank account reconciliations in a timely manner to ensure financial accuracy.Conduct financial research to support decision-making and identify areas for improvement.Assist with yearly audit preparation by gathering requested documents and ensuring compliance with auditing standards.Review and analyze financial documents to ensure the accuracy of data and identify any issues or discrepancies.Report financial issues to the Manager and provide recommendations for improvement.What You'll Need: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. A minimum of 5 years of work experience in accounting or finance is required. A minimum of 3 years of management experience is required. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, is required. Experience with Ppro is a plus. Strong communication skills and ability to work independently on assigned duties. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills required.
