You must have a passion for accuracy and efficiency.The position of Accounting Manager is responsible for all aspects of the accounting department, which includes maintaining the accounting for Calvary Chapel Church, Inc.; Calvary Chapel of Fort Lauderdale, Inc.; HELPS Ministries of Broward, Inc.; His Caring Place, Inc.; and any future entities which may be created or supported by Calvary Chapel Church, Inc. The Accounting Manager leads the accounting department as a support function for the Staff in order to improve ministry effectiveness, to make disciples, and to glorify God.You are:Convinced a relationship with Jesus changes everything in a person's lifeCommitted to keeping your family as your first ministryDedicated in your personal study of God's WordConsistently placing a high priority on worship and your personal prayer lifeAn excellent and generous steward of your personal financesObedient to God to take a Sabbath and make space for soul-keepingDeeply compassionate towards people who are in need or hurtingExcited about global missions and local outreach - you want to change the worldA part of a healthy friendship community and accountability circleWilling to give up personal pleasures and freedoms in order to live a life above reproach and that is aligned with our Leadership CovenantPassionate about learning and developing new job skills and training accounting staff on products andPassionate about conserving the widow's mite.Relentless in pursuing new ideas and updating/upgrading current proceduresYou will:Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures for the accounting department, working to develop new systems to enhance accuracy and accountability, and working on any special projects requested by the CFO and/or Controller.Oversee all aspects of financial statement preparation for all entities.Supervise the Staff Accountants, the Accounts Payable Manager, the Contributions Specialists, the Accounting Specialists.Supervise all accounting functions, including daily, weekly and monthly accounting activity and ongoing financial reporting.Oversee monthly closing procedures and month-end reporting for all entities.Oversee the annual external audit to ensure that information requests are provided in a timely manner and that any accounting issues resulting from the audit are addressed in a timely manner.Prepare financial reports for Board Meetings.Prepare consolidated Financial Statements for Calvary Chapel Church, Inc. and its related/controlled entities.Manage cash for Calvary Chapel Church, Inc. and all related/controlled entities and maintain a healthy relationship with our banking partners.Oversee the financial aspects of special events.Work closely with IT to support the accounting software and to develop church-wide workflow procedures to enhance accounting.Support department heads in enhancing their knowledge of the reporting requirements and financial aspects of their respective ministries.Analyze church operations and suggest methods of improving processes to create operational efficiency and cost savings.Manage people well and has good leadership qualities of overseeing volunteers.Keep confidential matters confidential.You Have:Significant knowledge, experience, and education in accounting.Excellent organizational skills with an appreciation for details.Proficiency in Microsoft Office software: PowerPoint, Word, ExcelThe Gift of administration.Excellent interpersonal skills for relating effectively with staff members, leadership, volunteers, the church body and members of the community.Excellent planning and follow-through ability as well as strong problem-solving skills.Flexibility to adapt to new situations and demonstrate excellent time management skills.Ability to complete projects on time and follow-through efficiently.What you are required to know:We are an EEO employer.You may have to bend, sit or stand for prolonged periods of time, lift, pull, push and/or move up to 35 lbs.May sit for a prolonged period of time in front of a computer.This is a full-time (40 hours/week) salary-exempt position.You may have to work evenings and/or weekends to assist with special events, emergencies or to meet deadlines.Calvary Chapel Church seeks to employ qualified, fiscally responsible individuals in sensitive positions within the company.
