Job DescriptionGENERAL FUNCTIONExciting opportunity to oversee operations of the Collections Department which performs collections of past-due loans and check cashing projects. The Manager of the Collections Department is responsible for the daily running and management of all Collections Communication Channels, overseeing a staff of -80 Supervisors and Collectors.Responsibilities:Oversees the North America Collections center with locations in US and Canada servicing the company's customers for past-due loans and check cashing products.Manages a team of -80 collectors ensuring achievement of the Company's collections financial plan and compliance to regulatory requirements by state, province and country as appropriate. Leads and manages Collections system(s) migration to new platforms ensuring smooth transition, improvement in tools for agents, embedding compliance and risk mitigation.Works collaboratively with Risk Function to deploy collections strategies including outsourcing, debt sales and champion challenges.In collaboration with Finance organization implements monthly, quarterly and annuals goals, develops reporting and measurement and drives achievement of financial plan.Create operational standards to ensure customer satisfaction and financial performanceManage expense budgets, and forecasts monthlyResponsible for identifying and supporting negotiations with strategic business alliances to leverage outside expertise in campaign management, direct marketing/segmentation, and internet developmentProvides operational support to retail store operations as required by ZVPs in NA.Liaise with supervisors, team leaders, operatives, and third parties to gather information and resolve issuesOwn workforce management functions like staffing and scheduling for your team, as well as maintaining an engaged and motivated workforce.Conduct coaching, developmental sessions, performance reviews, and administer disciplinary action as needed.Manage performance appraisal and compensation processes for staff as required.QualificationsEDUCATIONHigh school diploma or equivalent.Post-secondary degree or diploma in business or related field preferred. EXPERIENCE5 years experience in a call center environmentMinimum 4 years experience working in a management capacityThe candidate must have an aptitude for providing positive customer service, good communication, and problem-solving skillsExperience in the financial services industry is a plusSkillsStrategic thinker with the ability to examine and re-engineer collections operations, form new policies, and develop and implement new strategiesHighly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills.Strong communication skills and ability to manage up and down building strong relationships throughout.Leadership ability and team-building skills to effectively supervise staff required.Thorough understanding of Collections operations, principles, and metrics.Experience in all aspects of customer service, collections, and people management.Ability to analyze and interpret customer issues and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required.Able to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment.Additional InformationWe invest in our employees, and offer extensive training, and development programs to set you up for future success.
