Job Summary: With limited supervision, the senior internal auditor is part of a team responsible for evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of operational, financial, and compliance-based internal controls, including performance of Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) self-assessments and corporate policy compliance reviews. Identifies opportunities within procedures, systems, processes, and controls providing appropriate remedial action recommendations. How You Will Contribute: --- Performs audit work, including plan preparation, workpapers, findings, and associated reports; verifies the accuracy of financial records as they pertain to assets, liabilities, receipts, expenditures, and related transactions. --- Assists in the management and performance of internal audit and SOX self-assessment assignments, reviews workpapers and audit reports; edits reports prepared by others. --- Assists in scheduling and planning audits and SOX self-assessment testing; initiates project planning, assess risks and develops audit and testing direction. --- Assists in development of the Company's annual audit and SOX self-assessment plans --- Keeps abreast of policies and procedures, current developments in accounting and auditing professions, and changes in local, state, and federal laws, as applicable --- Coordinates and interacts with audit firms performing external audits. Required Experience And Skills --- Bachelor---s Degree or Equivalent and at least 5 years of experience. CPA or CIA preferred. --- Knowledge of GAAP and SOX standards, rules and regulations, and procedures including auditing concepts and principles. --- Ability to analyze data and solve problems. --- Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures. --- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. --- Ability to provide technical guidance and training to end users. --- Knowledge of financial recordkeeping procedures, laws, regulations, and standards. --- Ability to persuade and influence others.
